How to Add someone to a Group Text on Android?

Android devices make it easy to send text messages to people who aren’t on your contacts list — all you have to do is go into the Messages app and type the phone number or email address of the person you want to contact into the To field, and the app will do the rest.

But what if you want to add someone already in your contacts list to a group text? It’s possible, but it takes some effort — unless you know how to add someone to a group text on Android, that is!

Open the Message app

Open your messages app and tap Groups. Then you can create a new group or choose an existing one from your contacts list. If you’re creating a new group, click + and enter in up to five contacts’ phone numbers.
